Products & Quality
All Virtus compounds meet a minimum purity threshold of 99%+ as verified by independent third-party laboratory analysis. Every batch is independently tested by ILS Laboratories through the full QC panel for purity, identity, net peptide weight, heavy metals, bacterial endotoxin, and sterility. Three vials from each batch are tested, and purity and net peptide weight are reported as averages across the three vials to confirm batch conformity.
A COA is a formal document issued by our independent testing laboratory certifying the identity, purity, and lot-specific characteristics of each compound batch. Every Virtus product ships with a COA, and all current and historical COAs are published in our COA Database. Each COA is QR-verified and can be authenticated directly with ILS Laboratories.
All Virtus Peptides products are independently tested by ILS Laboratories, an analytical testing laboratory based in San Diego, California. ILS Laboratories is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited, the international standard for the technical competence of testing laboratories. We do not self-certify any of our compounds. Every batch passes the full QC panel: purity and quantitation by reversed-phase HPLC, identity confirmation by LC-MS, heavy metals by ICP-MS, bacterial endotoxin by LAL, and a rapid sterility screen by DNA microarray. Three vials per batch are tested, with purity and net peptide weight reported as averages across the three vials to confirm batch conformity.
All Virtus compounds are supplied as lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in sealed vials. We do not provide reconstitution, dosing, or administration guidance.
No. None of our compounds have been evaluated or approved by the FDA. They are research-use-only materials.
No. Virtus Peptides cannot and will not provide reconstitution guidance, dosing information, or any instruction related to administration or human use.
Testing & Methodology
All testing is performed by ILS Laboratories, an independent analytical testing laboratory located in San Diego, California. ILS Laboratories is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited, the international standard for the technical competence of testing and calibration laboratories. Founded in 2019, ILS Laboratories performs analytical chemistry and microbiology testing across a broad range of industries.
Every Virtus Peptides batch undergoes the full QC panel at ILS Laboratories:
- Purity and quantitation (reversed-phase HPLC): Reversed-phase High-Performance Liquid Chromatography quantifies purity to ≥99% and confirms the labeled milligram content of each vial.
- Identity (LC-MS): Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry confirms compound identity.
- Heavy metals (ICP-MS): Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry screens for arsenic, cadmium, chromium, mercury, and lead.
- Bacterial endotoxin (LAL): The Limulus Amebocyte Lysate assay tests for bacterial endotoxin contamination from the manufacturing process.
- Sterility (DNA microarray): A rapid sterility screen by DNA microarray checks for microbial contamination.
Three vials from each batch are tested, and purity and net peptide weight are reported as averages across the three vials to confirm batch conformity with no variance between vials. A batch only ships once it passes the full QC panel.
ISO/IEC 17025 is the international standard for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. A laboratory holding this accreditation has demonstrated, through independent third-party assessment, that it operates a quality management system, uses validated test methods, maintains traceable measurement standards, and produces technically valid results. ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation is the gold standard for analytical labs.
Every Virtus compound is manufactured in cGMP- and ISO-certified facilities that our supply chain has vetted in person.
Nothing is taken on a manufacturer's word. Before a single compound is sourced, the owners are met, the production floor is walked, and the facility is inspected against current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and ISO standards.
That inspection also covers the protocols that matter once a batch is in the field: batch traceability, in-house testing, and documented recall and reshipment procedures. A facility that can't demonstrate all of it doesn't make it into our supply network.
Virtus's own role begins after sourcing: every batch passes independent multi-lab inspection, with the final Certificate of Analysis issued by ILS Laboratories.
Every Virtus batch goes through multi-lab inspection before it reaches our shelves, with the final Certificate of Analysis issued by ILS Laboratories (San Diego, ISO/IEC 17025 accredited).
The final COA reports the full QC panel: identity and purity by reversed-phase HPLC and LC-MS, net peptide weight, heavy metals by ICP-MS, bacterial endotoxin by LAL, and a rapid sterility screen.
Three vials from each batch are tested, and purity and net peptide weight are reported as averages across the three vials to confirm batch conformity. Every published COA lives in our COA Database and can be authenticated directly with ILS Laboratories.
Sourcing only from in-person-inspected cGMP- and ISO-certified facilities, and running every batch through multi-lab inspection with a final ISO/IEC 17025 COA, costs us more than the alternative.
We chose to pay it.
Holding the highest standard for the compound and for the researchers who rely on it is the whole point of Virtus, and we'd rather absorb that cost than cut a corner you can't see.
Each Virtus Peptides batch carries a unique internal batch number that maps directly to the upstream manufacturer's lot. Every COA references the batch number under test, and every shipped vial is associated with the batch it came from. This means any vial in your possession can be traced back through our internal records to the COA on file and to the original manufacturer's production lot.
Each COA published in our COA Database includes the compound name, batch number, test date, testing methods used, percent purity result, net peptide weight, heavy metals panel results, bacterial endotoxin results, and sterility screening results. Purity and net peptide weight are reported as averages across the three vials tested for batch conformity. The full PDF is the laboratory's signed report. We do not edit, summarize, or annotate ILS Laboratories' reports. What you see in the COA Database is the original document.
Yes. Every COA is QR-verified and can be authenticated directly with ILS Laboratories. ILS Laboratories' contact information is publicly listed at ils-lab.com.
